How the numbers are made

204,490 live · 8 retailers

Canoe is a metasearch for used golf clubs. It watches the live inventory of the major used-club retailers every night, resolves each listing to a real product, and prices it against the rest of the market. It never sells a club: every price on the site is a plain link to the retailer’s own listing, and the transaction happens there. Canoe is an independent, non-commercial data project.

Measured, or modeled — always labeled

Fair price
The live median asking price of comparable listings of the same product, banded by condition where the band has enough comps. It is a measurement of what sellers are asking today, not a prediction and not a sale price. Every fair price on the site carries its comp count; fewer than five comps is an anecdote and is never presented as the market.
Measured deal
A listing is a deal only when all three hold: it is priced under the good-deal bar for its own condition band, the saving is at least $20, and the bar rests on at least five comps. Everything else is “under fair”, “at market” or “above fair” — the same rule on every page.
Clears at · delisted ≠ sold
Canoe cannot see sales. What it can see is a listing that disappears outside a catalog sweep and never returns — an organic delist — and the last price it was asking. “Clears at” is the median of those. It is a proxy for a sale, labeled as one wherever it appears, and days-on-market only renders once a cell has enough observed durations.
Value model
The value curve, the resale estimate in “What’s my club worth”, and the “buy now or wait” timing read come from a depreciation model fit nightly on the market’s own observations. They are estimates, and every one is marked “(model)” with the level of evidence behind it — this product’s own history, its product line, or only its brand or club type.
Canoe Score
A 0–100 fit-and-value read for five skill levels, built on the Maltby Playability Factor — head geometry measured on the physical club — plus the listing’s price against fair and its condition. A component the data can’t attribute is omitted, never averaged in.
Unknown stays unknown
No release year is guessed onto a listing, no condition grade is invented for a retailer that publishes none, and a chart draws reconstructed history dashed and real snapshots solid. Where the site has no measurement it shows a dash, not a zero.

Neutrality

canoe.golf is an independent, non-commercial data project. It has no affiliate links, no paid placement, and no sponsorship, and it earns nothing when you buy. Retailer links are plain links to the retailer’s own listing, with nothing added to them. Rankings and verdicts are computed from the numbers above and nothing else — no retailer can buy a position, a badge, or a verdict.

The site keeps no accounts beyond an optional email for price watches and a saved profile, stores no passwords, and serves no listing photos of its own — every image belongs to the retailer, on the retailer’s page.
